UPSC Civil Services 2019 Marking Scheme
- For correct answers in General Studies Paper 1, candidates will be allotted 2 marks
- For General Studies Paper 2, candidates will be awarded 2.5 marks for every right answers
- 1/3 marks for each questions will be deducted for incorrect answer
Calculation of Score
Score = [(Correct answers in GS Paper 1 x 2) – (Number of incorrect response x 0.66)] + [(Correct responses in GS Paper 2 x 2.5) – (Number of incorrect response x 0.83)]

The Union Public Service Commission has successfully conducted IAS Prelims Exam on 2nd June 2019. IAS Prelims Exam consists of Two Papers – GS Paper-I and GS Paper-II (CSAT) for a total of 400 Marks. Questions asked in the examination were of moderate to difficult level. There was also a negative marking of 1/3.
Important Information for Candidates
Marks of prelims Exam will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.
Candidates must secure a minimum of 33% Marks in General Studies Paper 2 of prelims to be eligible for mains exam.
Prelims Result will be depend on marks secured in GS Paper 1 and qualifying status of GS Paper 2.
On the basis of aggregate marks in mains exam, the Commission will prepare Merit list for SSC Interview.
Marks obtained in Paper A: Indian Language and Paper B: English in Main Exam, will not be considered while preparing the final merit list. Both the paper are qualifying in nature.
Candidates should score minimum of 25% in both Paper A and B to qualify for Personality Test.
The Commission will prepare the final merit list on the basis of marks obtained in mains written test and Personality test.

UPSC IAS Mains Exam 2019
The candidates who will be declared to qualify for the Mains Exam will have to apply online for Mains Exam and to submit Detailed Application Form I (DAF 1) along with necessary documents. After registration process, the commission will conduct Mains Exam from 20th September 2019.
UPSC IAS Interview
Candidates who will be declared to qualify for SSB Interview Round will have to participate for Interview Round. After the completion of whole Recruitment stages, the Commission will prepare Final Merit List on the basis of Main Written Test and Personality Test.
